Discover the tranquillity of Cala Llebeig

by | Practical advices

If you like the sea and calm, you will love Llebeig cove. It is a real hidden treasure at the foot of Cumbre del Sol and is surrounded by cliffs.

Thanks to its location, the waters are calm and invite you to take a dip in nature.

Llebeig Cove

This small beach awaits you in the southern part of the urbanisation. To reach it, it is necessary to descend a winding path that leads to a wonder of nature. When you arrive, you see the cliffs hugging the horizon in the shape of a crescent. You are surrounded by crystal clear turquoise blue water that is ideal for diving or snorkelling.

A curious aspect of this cove is its historical past. Centuries ago, pirates used it as a hiding place or as a shelter in case of a storm. As it is so close to the coast, much more so than Cala Moraig for example, the swell was not so annoying. It was also a good place to disembark and then move inland.

What characteristics make this cove unique?

The fundamental defining characteristic is tranquillity. As was the case centuries ago, the location of the beach is still unbeatable. The cliffs guarantee a certain silence that is only broken by the movement of the water. If you lie down and look up at the sky, you will be surprised by their great height and the dense vegetation that grows on them.

As for its sand, it is worth noting that stones are more common as you get closer to the sea. However, you will have no trouble finding a spot to lie in the sun and relax. And the best thing about it is that you’ll feel protected at all times thanks to the imposing stone walls.

Another point that reinforces its peaceful atmosphere is the small number of bathers. Because it is so hidden, it is not as well attended as it might seem. This allows you to relax and disconnect from the world, almost as if you were on a private beach. This way, when you decide to return home, you will have fully recharged your energy.

However, if you want to practice water sports, this is one of the best beaches in Cumbre del Sol. You can swim, dive or snorkel, which is highly recommended as the waters are crystal clear. You will be able to see the seabed clearly and without too much disturbance.

Unique beaches in the Cumbre del Sol area

Llebeig is not the only beach available in the vicinity of Cumbre del Sol. The one in Moraig is at the foot of the urbanisation. Access is easier, as you can go by car and park very close to the sand. It also has a beach bar and a viewpoint nearby. However, there is a capacity restriction of 400 people and it is essential to book well in advance.

Very close to the previous one, the cove of Los Tiestos is characterised by its small size (about 40 metres long) and for being very hidden, much more so than Llebeig. To get there, there is a path that goes down from Moraig, although it is also possible to go kayaking from Moraig. The tranquillity, as in the others, is assured.
